Akua is an experienced musical performer and instructor. She has completed the comprehensive certificates for both Level 10 Piano, and Level 10 Voice, from the The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). RCM is one of Canada's most widely and internationally known music exam boards. Akua took her first private music lessons when she was 6 and a half years old, and she completed her first RCM exam at the age of 9. She has completed numerous RCM piano, voice (singing), and theory examinations as a child and as an adult. Akua learned to play the flute during her middle school and high school years in order to complete her school music credits at the time. Although Akua no longer plays the flute, she still has a strong fondness for the instrument. In addition to her music credentials, Akua works as a marketer, journalist, and actress, and she holds college diplomas for Business Marketing, as well as for Journalism.
In RCM Piano, Akua has completed Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 10.

Some of Akua's previous music instructors include Madeline Maltby, Karyn Fong, and Lloyd Werner. Akua has studied advanced level piano and advanced level voice with instructor Abigail Freeman, and she has also studied advanced level music theory with instructor Stephan Tan. Akua is a part-time music instructor offering private piano, vocal, and theory lessons independently and also through select music schools in the city of Mississauga. Akua has been honoured to be accompanied by adept pianists Karen Mark, and Sherry Chang, during some of her vocal performances.
Akua has participated in numerous music festivals such as Contemporary Showcase, ORMTA, and Peel Music Festival, and she has won performance awards through those venues. Some of Akua's piano and vocal students have also won awards in music festivals, as well as achieving first class honours marks in their music exams.
Akua can often be found playing piano and singing songs from all genres; pop, folk, classical, praise and worship, romantic, baroque, Broadway showtunes, r & b, jazz, rock, and much more. She has a special place in her heart for country music, and often, happy tears stream down Akua's face as she performs piano and vocal country music due to the deep emotions that country music evokes in her heart.
